Ubislate 7Ci the world`s cheap tablet.

For many consumers who can not afford buying a tablet, Ubislate launch of the tablet 7Ci is a gift from heaven, especially when are few days left before Christmas . And it only costs $ 40.-
The tablet , which started shipping in the UK and manufactured by the British company Datawind , is the commercial version of the Aakash 2 tablet , which was originally introduced in India in 2011.
There the device is used primarily by students. In fact , it was designed to provide cheap internet access , in order to improve education.
When the Aakash was launched two years ago was called the " Tablet world's cheapest touch screen ." The first was not well received by critics, but the improved version, the Aakash 2 got more positive comments .
Analysts say that if compared to other tablets in the market , British customers might be disappointed .
And is that the specifications are not impressive.
The device, 18cms , runs a modified version of Android 4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich) , a chip Cortex A8 1GHz and 512MB of RAM. That's the same chip design used in the iPhone 3GS , released in 2009 , and the Samsung Galaxy S 2010.
It also has a resolution of 800 x 400 compared to 1440 x 900 Hudl offers economic tablet British supermarket chain Tesco , which costs about $ 160.
Storage is much lower than the competition . It has only 4GB, while Hudl has 16GB .
At the same time , its battery lasts about three hours, a third of the average of nine hours with other tablets that feature .
According to Datawind , the 7Ci has access to over 150,000 apps and can handle basic functions such as email and internet browsing . This might be enough for a good portion of customers who do not require a particularly sophisticated tablet.
Affordability ? vs Quality?
Speaking at the Wired 2013 conference in October , Suneet Singh Tuli , Datawind founded , said affordability was key to the internet is a massive issue.
"It's not just about creating a low-cost device , it is for us to offer internet ," he said .
A partnership with the Indian government helped Aakash 2 became one of the country 's best-selling tablets .
" Earlier this year we became the largest supplier of tablets in India , ahead of Apple and Samsung ," Tuli said.
"The reality is that with any consumer electronics device you get what you pay for ," said Ben Wood , an analyst at research firm CCS Insight.
" Any consumer who buys the Ubislate 7Ci with the expectation that it will offer an experience comparable to other more expensive , but also affordable , as Amazon Kindle Fire (which can be purchased for about $ 170) and Hudl will feel very disappointed. "
On the net , commentators are divided. "I could buy some to use as coasters ," said a user on the Technobuffalo portal. While another, in the Cnet page , praised as " the best you can buy for that price ."
" I use it to watch YouTube, check email and Facebook . What more could you want? " He added .
The company, was named the most innovative Mobile company by UK government in a competition in 2012, also has two other tablets with higher specifications advertised on their website. Specifications:

The Galaxy S Duos 2 GT-S7582 from Samsung is just launched and it is available in India for the price of Rs. 10999. (US$175.-) The smartphone comes with a little better specs when compared to the first gen Galaxy device. The Galaxy S Duos 2 has the same TouchWiz UI which we see in the Samsung Android phones. There is a 5-megapixel rear camera with the LED flash, and it can record 720p HD videos.

Samsung is rolling out this month and next Android 4.3 Jelly Bean updates for Galaxy S3, Note II, and the Galaxy S4.
The update for the Galaxy S3 and S4 is starting already , at least in the USA.
One user in India was lucky enough to get his Note II updated from a local service center.
The build number of the firmware is N7100XXUEMJ9, while the build date is of October 31st.
