The upcoming Bluetooth 4.1 version will have a better connectivity and will transfer files easier between gadgets. With the new standard , devices will be able to quickly and automatically reconnect once your are back in range.
UPDATES:
The first is labeled "coexistence", and deals with letting Bluetooth and LTE radios communicate with each other to coordinate transmissions and theoretically decrease the likelihood of near-band interference. Next is "better connections", which allows reconnection intervals to be flexible, so if you walk out of range of a device and get disconnected for a short time, the devices will automatically reconnect. Last is "improved data transfer", which makes data transfer more efficient when dealing with all of the new accessories that can track your body and health as you're out.
Bluetooth 4.1 also gives more flexibility to developers, the most important example of this is in allowing devices to be both peripherals and hubs at the same time. This is obviously in order to deal with the upcoming boom in wearable tech, so a wearable (like a smartwatch) can both be a hub for other devices (ie. health trackers) and a peripheral to a smartphone at the same time. There is also a new standard for using IPV6, which will help with the upcoming move to "The Internet of Things", aka internet-connected appliances, etc.

Lenovo today introduced its first LTE smartphone, the Lenovo Vibe Z,a gorgeous razor-thin, blazing-fast device equipped with gesture controls, photo enhancement software and other premium technologies. To complement the Vibe Z, Lenovo also launched a trio of smartphones, starting with the S930, a supersized 6-in device primed for media addicts, the S650, a 4.7-in compact and stylish workhorse, and the “tweener” A859, a 5-in high performance all-rounder.
These four new devices complement Lenovo’s existing portfolio of phones ranging from feature phones to premium smartphones across multiple price points. Vibe Z Wraps LTE, Style and Top Technologies into One Incredible Device
As Lenovo’s first smartphone featuring LTE capabilities, the Vibe Z offers true mobile freedom with super-fast data upload at up to 50 Mbit/s1 and downloading at up to 150 Mbit/s1 to satisfy the most data hungry of individuals. The Vibe Z operates on GSM/UMTS networks up to 2100 and also comes with 802.11ac WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0.
The svelte Vibe Z comes encased in a thin 7.9mm silver or titanium body weighing just 147 grams. Users will appreciate its laser-etched, fabric-feel rear cover that is comfortable to hold and its 5.5-in full high definition (1920x1080) IPS wide angle viewing touchscreen display. Images appear pin sharp leveraging the Vibe Z’s 20/20 Vision display with a pixel density of 400 pixels per inch. S Series Smartphones Offer Supersized or Pocket-Sized Mobile Media

Both smartphones adopt the Vibe Z’s silver body and laser-etched fabric-feel rear cover, the S930 supersizes the available screen real estate with its 6-in high definition 1280x720 touchscreen while the S650 sports a compact 4.7-in gHD 960x540 display with IPS wide angle viewing.

The Vibe Z starts at $549 and is available starting in February in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and the Philippines.

ASUS launched world`s first bluetooth 4.0 headset with NFC.
ASUS claimed to launch the world's first Bluetooth 4.0 headset to feature NFC technology.
The ergonomically-designed EB50N earphones support one-touch pairing with smartphones and tablets, feature full-range stereo drivers, and boast a long battery life.
The NFC EZ one-touch pairing technology means that the Asus EB50N earphones can auto sync with any Bluetooth-enabled device held about an inch (3 cm) away, or even closer. A multi-point connection mode means that they can also pair with two devices simultaneously.
The included Li-Pol battery offers up to 6 hours of continuous listening or talking, and users can also converse with two different people at the same time via the integrated microphone, or put one party on hold while chatting privately to the other. Though the product page currently claims 250 months on standby, the press release offers a more realistic 250 hours.
Each earpiece is home to an 8 mm full-range driver with echo cancellation and noise isolation. The earphones have a reported frequency response of 20 Hz to 17 kHz, and 85 dB sensitivity (± 3 dB). The left earpiece is home to an LED indicator and power button, and the right sports a micro USB port for charging.
The specs also mention the use of exclusive bio-tech materials to minimize distortion, but no more details are offered.
The ergonomic design is claimed fatigue-free for comfortable prolonged use, and unlike many existing NFC-capable Bluetooth earphones, the braided cable doesn't end in a chunky clip that attaches to clothing. Each bud hooks over the top of the ear and the cable runs around the back of the neck.
