Video: World's top robots compete in international event.

WorldWide tech & Science. Francisco De Jesùs.

Humanoids from the United States, China, Japan and Korea compete in a ''robot olympics'' of sorts, aimed at testing their ability to handle disaster relief.

Robots battle it out in Miami in a fierce two-day "robot olympics" of sorts. Top robot makers from around the world are showcasing their advanced humanoids in what is known as the DARPA Robotics Challenge.

A total of seventeen teams from the United States, China, Japan and Korea are participating in the two-day trials. They're aimed at awarding the gold to the robot that bests deals with disaster response. Organizers have put their robots through rigorous training in order to face the challenge. NASA's Robonaut was part of the U.S. team, and team leaders - like Kimberly Hambuchen - were happy with the outcome.

KIMBERLY HAMBUCHEN, TEAM LEADER FOR HUMANOID ROBOT INTERFACE, SAYING: "We were able to create this humanoid robot that can go into places where humans can go. If humans can go there, this robot can go there and that's good for, not only this competition where we want to put the robot into a disaster response situation, but also for NASA, in general, because we send humans into outer space and we would like to be able to send robots that don't need any specialization."

The event is open to the public, and organizers hope audiences gain a new awareness of the current affairs surrounding robotics, and their interaction with humankind in the future.

Video: First China probe arrives on the Moon.

WorldWide Tech & Science. Francisco De Jesùs.

The first Chinese lunar rover landed on the moon on Saturday , less than two weeks after they left Earth , according to Chinese state media.

The landing on the lunar surface makes China one of the three countries after the United States and the former Soviet Union - in landing on the lunar surface, and the first to do so in more than three decades.
In the next decade , China plans to open a permanent space station in Earth orbit .

China had announced his mission last November and the launch took place a decade after the country sent its first astronaut into space.

The probe Chang'e off on a Long March 3B rocket from the Sichuan province in southwestern China.

The unmanned mission marks the first Chinese attempt landing on the lunar surface from the Soviet moon probe 24 in 1976.

Upon landing, the aircraft was scheduled to release Jade Rabbit ( Rabbit Chinese Jade or Yutuen ) a six-wheeled lunar rover equipped with four cameras and two mechanical legs that can get soil samples , as described a vehicle designer Xinhua early November.

A public survey determined the name of the solar-powered robot , which comes from the mascot of the Chinese goddess of the Moon Chang'e . The browser will patrol the surface of the moon for three months, according to Xinhua.

In the United States , scientists have expressed concern that the Chinese mission interferiera a NASA study on the dusty environment of the Moon. Since they had calculated that the decrease of Chang'e will crease considerable column of dust on the surface of the moon , which could affect the results of the investigations conducted  by the Explorer Lunar Atmospheric and Environmental Dusty ( LADEE , for their acronym ) , said the principal of Analysis Group Lunar Exploration NASA Space.com Jeff Plescia site .

Mission means the second phase of China's lunar exploration program , which includes orbit the moon, land on its surface and return to Earth . Previous missions included the entire lunar mapping high resolution .

Delivery Drones before Amazon PrimeAir idea.

Delivery Drones before Amazon PrimeAir idea.

WorldWide Tech & Science. Francisco De Jesùs.

SF Express

China is expansive, making delivery around the undeveloped parts of the country expensive. To combat this delivery service SF Express is testing out drone delivery.

Flirtey Zookal

Android users in Australia will soon be able to schedule a rendezvous with a delivery drone by using the Flirtey app to get their latest textbook rental from Zookal.

Yo! Sushi

Diners at Yo! Sushi in London might not have to tip their servers soon. The chain is testing out delivering orders to tables with quadcopters at their Soho location and if all goes well, will float the idea to its other locations.

TacoCopter

Like so many things that sound too good to be true, such was theTacoCopter. The Bay Area already boasts some of the best Mexican food in the country, but to think it could be delivered by octocopter was flying too close to the sun. The site turned out to be a hoax, but the dream lives on.

DomiCopter

It was nothing more than a marketing ploy, but Domino's almost outdid Amazon's PrimeAir with theDomiCopter this past summer. Alas, the pizza-delivery system ended up just being an extra-cheesy stunt.

iPhone 5C sales at discount in China.

WorldWide Tech & Science. Francisco De Jesùs.

iPhone 5C sales at discount in China, as sales lag far behind iPhone 5S.

iPhone5c, Apple's newly-launched lower-end phone, is selling at discounts as sales remain stagnant overshadowed by the intensively popular iPhone 5s.

iPhone 5c with 16 G storage is sold at 3699 yuan (about $604) Thursday at a store on Tmall, the country's largest B2C retail platform, down from the original price of 4488 yuan (about $733).

Information on the webpage showed the store has sold 45 devices following the launch last Friday.

The gold-colored iPhone 5s is rather attractive, in particular for Asian markets and prices are pushed to over 10,000 yuan ($1634) at some resellers stores in China amid a mania for the color.

Samsung, Apple's biggest rival, has just announced Thursday that its Galaxy S4 will be offered in two golden colors, following HTC One’s expensive version in 24-carat gold.
